On Tuesday, May 7th, the NMRL participated in “Meet Your Army” at the William Pitt Union. “Meet Your Army” hosted several Army personnel that discussed health sciences career opportunities, current DoD research projects, and future collaborations with the DoD and US Army. Dr. Bradley Nindl opened the panel presentation where he briefed the NMRL’s capabilities and how our research relates to the impact on military personnel. Dr. Shawn Flanagan then discussed the specific aims of each of our currently funded research studies and how we can use that information to enhance military decision making and implement more effective training procedures to optimize performance. Current NMRL doctoral student, Major William Conkright was also invited to speak at “Meet Your Army.” He discussed his Army story and the potential health career science opportunities in the Army.
