Academic Programs

The Neuromuscular Research Laboratory and the UPITT Warrior Human Performance Research Center are the applied research laboratories of the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.  The Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition offer academic programs in Sports Medicine (Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Science - Sports Medicine) and Nutrition and Wellness (Masters of Science - Wellness and Human Performance). The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences also offers a PhD in Rehabilitation Science (Sports Medicine).   Students in these academic programs have the opportunity to learn about, participate in, and/or conduct research as part of their enrollment depending on the program.  Individuals interested in the Sports Medicine and PhD programs should contact Dr. Brad Nindl at bnindl@pitt.edu.  Individuals interested in the Nutrition and Wellness program should contact Dr. Matthew Darnell at med30@pitt.edu.
